Advancing to States
The DI Virginia Affiliate Board is pleased to announce that more teams than ever will be moving on to the Affiliate Tournament in Crozet this year!
First and second place teams from each challenge and level will be invited to compete at the Affiliate Tournament on March 31, 2012. If there is more than one challenge site for the same challenge and level, first and second place teams from BOTH sites will be advanced to the Affiliate Tournament. If there are between 10 and 19 teams competing at the same level at a single competition site, first, second, and third place teams will be advanced. If there are 20 or more teams competing at the same level at a single competition site, first, second, third, and fourth place teams will be advanced. There will also be one wild card team from each region advanced to the Affiliate Tournament.
In addition, every Rising Stars Team is invited to present at the Virginia Starry Showcase. This will give the team the chance to attend an affiliate tournament without the pressure of competing.
The Affiliate Board is thrilled to be giving additional teams the opportunity to experience the Affiliate Tournament in 2012!
Remember to turn in your registration forms and checks for the Regional Tournament to your school contact by January 13th (Friday).
